Douglas Court is a native of Toronto, Canada and received his early musical training in The Salvation Army. His formal training was received at the University of Toronto where he studied trumpet and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Doug has also studied composition at the University of South Florida.
From 1986 through 1995 Doug held the position of Divisional Music Director for The Salvation Army in the state of Florida. This position allowed for extensive work with young musicians, running summer music conservatories, teaching private lessons as well as conducting both adult and youth ensembles. Doug also has many instrumental and vocal pieces published by The Salvation Army.
