Polkas are popular in many different cultures. The form itself originated in the 19th century around Bohemia and though mostly associated with the Czech culture, today it is popular throughout Europe and the Americas. Peckle Polka gets its name from the composers immediate family referring to cat food (when feeding their cat) as peckles. While cats, as a rule, will ignore you when trying to teach them tricks, the composers cat knows what is meant when asked, do you want some peckles It means food!
