The magic pendant is just another symbol or in this case a jewel (probably of little value) that is considered by the wearer of having magical properties. This fun, multi section overture allows the opportunity for young musicians to play in changing styles and tempos. Very smooth legato playing is contrasted by short, clearly articulated passages.
