As with any instrument in the orchestra or band, players enjoy working in groups consisting of like instruments. Flute choirs, clarinet choirs, trumpet ensembles, horn ensembles, trombone ensembles and low brass groups are popular both with performers and audiences. Some pieces are for ensemble with keyboard but most are for ensemble alone making them very portable and useful at a variety of events. There are several piece arranged for Saxophone Quartet (either SATB or AATB) as well as some for just 2 or 3 Altos.
